Stone that Travels Thousands of Miles to Last a Lifetime
We started Spanish Marble in 2008 with one simple conviction: the most beautiful stone in the world comes from Spain, and American homeowners deserved access to it at a fair price — not marked up three times by a middleman who'd never visited the quarry.
Our founder made his first trip to Alicante province in 2006. He walked through the Crema Marfil quarry, watched blocks get lifted from the earth, and understood immediately why this stone had furnished the world's great buildings for centuries. He spent two years building direct relationships with quarry operators in Alicante, the Basque Country, and Catalonia before bringing the first shipment to the US.
Today we maintain direct relationships with seven quarry operations across Spain. We visit them every year. We know the quarry managers by name. When a new vein opens up — like the exceptional Nero Marquina run we sourced in 2023 with unusually fine gold veining — our partners call us first.
